Sign Up

Placement Test
Your child takes a placement test so we know exactly where to start.
Curriculum
We build a curriculum from the test results, aligned to Washington State and HI-CAP standards.
Match with Tutor
We pair your child with a tutor whose strengths fit their subject and grade.
Schedule
You and the tutor agree on lesson times that work for both of you.
Lesson
30 to 40 minute one-on-one virtual lessons. Games, visuals, and small rewards to keep kids engaged.
All lessons are 1-on-1, virtual, and 30 to 40 minutes. Schedules flex around your child and the tutor.

Why I started Xcellence Tutors
I'm Meera Shanmugam, a high school student in Bothell, Washington. I started Xcellence Tutors because I kept seeing younger students stuck in tutoring programs that ran everyone through the same material. I built something different. Every student we work with starts with a placement test, gets a curriculum built around their actual results, and is matched with a tutor who's strong in their subject.
